My sent email messages are being returned to me. What's going on?

There could be a variety if things that may have caused this. Please see the list below of possible causes and solutions.

  • Cause: Mispelled email address or email address no longer exists.
  • Solution: Check that the email address is spelled correctly and that the recipient's email address is still valid. Please note that you can also make a phone call to your intended recipient(s) for address verifications. Email is not the only way to get in touch with people!
  • Cause: Your login time for the server has timed out.
  • Solution: Click on the receive email/send button so that you log back into the server and have access to the SMTP server, then proceed to resend the email. You can also see the following FAQ for more details on POP before SMTP:
    www.azc.com/htmls/faqs/553_error.html
  • Cause: Your ISP has recently made some changes and has implemented a strict proxy server, therefore you may nor be able to sue a third party SMTP server such as that of AZC's.
  • Solution: Perform a TELNET test and see if you have a direct connection to the SMTP server. The instructions for this can be found here:
    www.azc.com/htmls/faqs/telnet_test.html
  • You can also call up your ISP's Technical Support and check with them whether you can use a third party's mail server to send outgoing messages. If the answer is negative, then you will need to always use your ISP's mail servers instead. Please note that AZC has no control of your ISP's Internet access policies. We can't "fix it" for you.
  • Cause: Your recipient ISP may have blocked the SMTP server for some reason.
  • Solution: We may need to look at the bounced header message to determine that this is the actual cause. Please send the full bounced back envelope header to support@azc.com
  • For more information of what an email header looks like please go here:
    www.stopspam.org/email/headers.html

Please look over the mentioned causes and try the solutions. If you still are having problems after trying the solutions please fill out our technical support form and we will get back to you in a timely manner to address your issue.
