What are the differences between a POP account and a redirection account?A POP account is identical to any regular email account you may have with your Internet Access Provider, with the difference that instead of having the address you@someinternetprovider.com your POP box is you@yourdomain.com. A POP Account has a specific name and has an actual location somewhere on the Internet, namely on your server. To get your mail, you have to physically retrieve it with an email program. An email redirection account also has a specific name, but instead of keeping the message on a server, it forwards all incoming messages to another email address. The latter could be another email box maintained with another provider, or a local POP account. For example, you could configure the address you@yourdomain.com such that all incoming messages for that box are automatically transferred to your email box at AOL, Compuserve, Hotmail, or at your ISP. So, this process is similar to the call forwarding feature you may have on your telephone.
