How do I retrieve the message envelope (aka:headers) in Microsoft Outlook Express

This is a fairly simple process. Just follow the directions listed below.
Note:If you are using an email software other than Microsoft Outlook Express, please consult spamcop.net's FAQ: How do I get my email program to reveal the full, unmodified email?

  1. Inside of the Outlook Express email software, click on the inbox icon on the left so that the subjects of messages inside of the inbox show up on the right.
  2. Right click on the message whose envelope you wish to review or retrieve.
  3. After you right click, a pop-up menu will show up. Click on the Details tab.
  4. Click on the [Messages source] button
  5. Copy and paste the content of the envelpe (i.e. everything above the message body) into say, the NotePad program. Save the content, and then send us the content via email for investigation.
