The domain name that I want has expired or is about to expire. How can I get it?This one can be tough. Just because a domain name is expiring/has expired, doesn't neccessarily mean you can get the domain name on, or immediately following, its expiration date. Domain names may be held by the registrar at which they were registered for any length of time following their expiration. In fact, the registry usually allows the current registrant of the domain some extra time to renew. Often times, even after it is clear that the registrant will not renew the domain name, the registry will continue to hold it. The length of the hold actually varies from company to company. It can take anywhere fom several weeks to a few months before the domain name becomes available. We cannot register an expired domain name for you until it has been made available again.
