How do I configure my email program?

First of all, please note that the AZC, Inc. hosting service doesn't cover the assistance for the use and setup of your PC desktop applications.

The following pieces of info are only the things that you might need from AZC. The rest are all specific to your program:

Note:Some internet access providers, such as AOL, do not permit their customers to use a third party SMTP server. If you believe your provider may have an SMTP proxy block, please refer to the following FAQ

We encourage you to contact the vendor of your software and ask how and where to enter the info listed above in your program. Please remeber that you paid the vendor for both the program and after sale support.. Having said that, as a courtesy we will provide some generic instructions on how you can make some progress:

  1. First, please review the the AZC online FAQ "How do I use AZC's mail server to send outgoing messages?".
  2. It is vital that you familiarize yourself with your email client program. Be sure to read the user manual and/or the online help. Since there are so many different types and versions of email programs, it would be impossible for us to give examples for all of these.
  3. Our online Customer Resource Guide provides you with step-by-step instructions and screenshots for a few of the leading email client programs. These can be found in the MailTool section of the user guide.
  4. Fruthermore, AZC also provides you with a "live" example whenever you create a POP account. The example uses the settings of the account directly.
  1. First, create the POP account that you desire.
  2. Immediately after the system informs you that it has created the POP account, click on the account username (it's a link). A new page will show you some essential configuration info, and some "Wizard" buttons for a few leading email programs. These "Wizards" use the setting of your newly created account's information for their configuration examples.

Even if you have configured email clients before, we highly recommend that you let the system show you, even if only to verify that your setting are indeed accurate. Please also do read the AZC online FAQ "How do I use AZC's mail server to send outgoing messages?" as suggested above.

We will note that many email clients have similar fields that need to be filled in when configuring their settings. So, even if we don't provide you with the specific settings of your email program, as long as it is a popular program, you should have no trouble mimicking the settings for your version.
