How do I transfer my updated files to the server?

Files and content can be transferred by file transfer software tools (FTP Tools) such as WS_FTP, CuteFTP, Fetch (Mac). These tools can be downloaded freely from the web. Software archives such as shareware.com usually have them.

Remember,when updating, you will first want to make a backup of all the current files that comprise your web site. Once you have backed up your files, you would make all your changes on your local computer or workstation using your design tools. Save the files before uploading them to the server. Be sure that the name of the new file is the same as the one you are replacing, otherwise, you may break links embedded in your pages.
